Mightybytes is a full-service creative firm that executes design-driven communications solutions for our clients. Design and solid storytelling are the underlying forces that drive all we do while our technical expertise and media-savvy approach are often what set us apart.

OurServices

Animation & Motion Graphics

A tween here, a keyframe there, ease-in, ease-out, we have animated various graphic and media elements along the x, y and z-axes for years. We have seen software packages come and go, but nothing takes the place of a good eye for composition and movement.

  • Logo & Identity Animation
  • Banner Advertisements
  • Transitional Video Elements
  • Lower Thirds
  • Type & Text Animation
  • Presentations

Design & Brand Identity

Everything that we do requires design and communication skills, but some projects need to transcend media formats as well. Need a postcard or brochure mailer to go with that trade show presentation? How about business cards or sleek packaging for your CD/DVD project? Our cross-media design expertise transcends colorspace and pixel resolution to arrive at stunning printed results.

  • Business Cards & Letterhead
  • Brochures, Postcards & Mailers
  • Promotional Materials

Programming & Development

PHP, CSS, HTML, XML, CFM, AJAX - we are a truly multilingual operation, at least in the development sense. We finesse all those acronyms into user-friendly applications to mine data, manage and serve content, sell products, and build communities.

  • Rich Media
  • Database Applications
  • Shopping Carts
  • Customer Relationship Management Tools
  • Content Management Systems
  • Games

Often scores of stock images just can't convey what a single custom photo can in seconds. Mightybytes applies the same attention to detail and strong eye for composition on moving images as we do with still.

  • Food & Product Photography
  • People & Head Shots
  • Web Site & Collateral Imagery
  • Color Correction, Editing, & Touch-Up

OurFolks

AmitRampurkar

Amit Rampurkar dreams of leading the team that will design and develop ‘The Matrix’, so that he can be incarnated in this universe forever. Meanwhile, when not animating and developing at Mightybytes, he loves to watch adventure and fantasy movies, play soccer, volleyball, and cricket (the un-named national game of India). Born and raised in Mumbai, India, there he developed some ‘Witty’ codes for the Web and CMS’s, and fell in love with Joomla along the way. Amit moved to Chicago to discover more about the design and animation arena. A very happy graduate of DePaul University’s Digital Cinema program, he loves exploring and learning about all the bits and pieces in this world. Always keen to discovery, Amit welcomes criticism with a smile as part of the learning process. One thing you’ll never hear him say is, “Hey, I don’t want to know about this!”

RadekMichalik

Radek Michalik’s love affair with digital entertainment started 1992 (shortly after his family moved to the suburbs of Chicago from Warsaw, Poland) when he saw Jurassic Park in theaters. It is still his favorite movie. He devoured Waubonsie Valley High School’s television production program, where he created his epic 43 minute Star Wars fanfilm. Since then, he has graduated from Columbia College with a degree in 3D Animation/Film and Video. He has worked on several films, commercials, industrial design projects, shot weddings, and done pretty much anything to avoid a steady and secure 9-5 job. The serpentine journey which culminated at Mightybytes began for Radek with a videocamera in hand, filming tapdancers clad in superhero outfits. In the summer, Radek loves mojitos, in the winter—Polish honey liquor. Radek also enjoys pushups, has a love-hate relationship with pullups, and views squats and lunges as a necessary evil.

AlesiaTyree

Alesia brings an extensive skill set of interactive technology product development from working with a major textbook publisher for 5 years, where she worked with Mightybytes as a client on many projects. Her products are in many classrooms drilling Social Studies lessons into the heads of 9th graders. As a result, her knowledge of world history makes her an excellent candidate for trivia games, as well as creating user-friendly web products for youth and adults. Previously, Alesia put her entrepreneurial talents to work by operating a successful consulting business for 10 years. For corporate clients ranging from Motorola to Walgreens to 3Com, she managed the creation of eLearning modules across a broad range of business applications. Alesia’s multi-tasking expertise includes project scheduling, client relations, and conference calls, sometimes even whilst reading a bedtime story to her 3 year old.

StacyJones

Stacy Hope Jones is a marketing consultant and content writer and currently spends her time in North Carolina wrangling chickens out of her yard when not working on digital marketing, social media, business development and other creative projects in media, publishing, and fiction writing. Working in online marketing since 1997, her partnerships and clients have included online learning portals, newspapers, textbook and supplemental publishers, children’s book publishers, and more. Having written for advertising and marketing agencies, as well as extensive corporate communications for web and digital media, her concentration in content development for Mightybytes is keyword-rich content engaging marketing goals and response, creating brand identity and voice for companies to reach target audiences, and thinking out of the box to bring new ideas to light. Specializing in opening new business channels and interactive marketing, see Stacy’s profile on Linkedin for more.

StevePersch

As a child, Steve had a love of Legos and mastery of mental multiplication that exceeded expectations. He left the Legos at his parent’s place and the arithmetic abandoned him in a Catholic classroom. What remained was a robust regard for ratiocination. Upon completing college, he proceeded to profit from programming PHP and seemed destined to discover Drupal. When not laboring with the LAMP stack, Steve cycles along Lake Michigan and makes the most of his theatrical training.  He also adores alliteration.

TaiPalmgren

Tai cut his XHTML, CSS, and ExpressionEngine teeth on sites he has built for various theater companies he has been a part of. A new member of the Mightycrew, he looks forward to further sharpening those teeth into laser-cut diamond razors. When not coding and designing sites, he teaches and performs with the theater and education company Barrel of Monkeys. A perfectionist, he feels a little weird about ending the first sentence in his bio with a preposition.

JoyBurke

Joy Burke has come a long way since her days making burgers at the Steak-n-Shake in Effingham, Illinois. She has traded burgers for beziers and now spends most of her time making the world a more beautiful place one pixel at a time. Joy is a 2007 graduate of the Visual Communications program at the Illinois Institute of Art where she won Best in Show for Innovative Design on her portfolio. When not creating award-winning design work, Joy likes to play soccer and piano, nurture her beta fish, and work the runway as a house model for Sassoon.

TravisChandler

Travis Chandler plays music, makes movies and works at Mightybytes, all of which he enjoys thoroughly. After nearly a decade of activity in the local music scene, he returned to school and graduated with honors from DePaul University’s Digital Cinema program, which he still remembers in a soft-focus-misty-eyed-flashback-montage kind of way. Thinking he was fully prepared by his schooling for any digital media challenge, Travis marched over to Mightybytes in late 2006 and has been learning completely new things nearly every day since. Despite the practical and technical challenges, his future plans include robot and zombie-assisted world domination. Also, Mightybytes may factor in there as well.

JamesJohnston

James Johnston loves music and sushi so much it hurts, but also really enjoys the oft-underrated moment of crossing items off his to-do list and is always appreciative of a job well done. He excels at keeping track of details, keeping people happy, and keeping the rest of his compatriots in line, all of which happen to be great skills if you’re a project manager or the leader of a band. Incidentally, James is both. He has worked his way into a position of responsibility everywhere he has been, from a nineteen year old talent relations and production assistant at MTV in New York, to manager of a popular Chicago recording studio at 26, and now project manager at Mightybytes. He also has significant audio and music production knowledge, which comes in handy in his role as lead singer for the band Bumpus.

TimFrick

Tim has provided creative media services to an extensive client list since the early 1990s. His work has received numerous awards and has appeared in many publications, web sites, and television broadcasts as well as at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art. He has held positions on the board of the Association for Multimedia Communications, the Advisory Committees of the Illinois Institute of Art’s Animation and Interactive Media Departments, and the Interactive Media Department of Columbia College. Tim is the author of Managing Interactive Media Projects, an interactive media process guide from Delmar-Cengage Learning and an upcoming book on digital marketing techniques from Focal Press.
