Here’s how Mightybytes helps the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) build capacity and strengthen governance while also improving member experiences across multiple channels.
Started in 1904, NABP protects public health by supporting member Boards of Pharmacy across the United States. Their programs promote safe pharmacy practices that benefit members and the general public.
Our work together helps NABP achieve their goals and better support stakeholders while showing measurable results over time. Here’s how.

Digital Strategy
NABP conducts annual strategic planning to align stakeholder needs with organizational goals and priorities. Marketing and communications play a significant role in helping NABP achieve these goals, so they enlist Mightybytes’ help with digital strategy.
This usually takes the form of workshops and collaborative exercises that help individual project stakeholders achieve consensus on the best path forward.
These workshops include a variety of exercises and facilitated discussions:
- Research to identify member and other stakeholder needs, pain points, etc.
- Content and SEO strategy exercises
- Analytics and reporting improvement
- Conversion rate optimization goals and tactics
- Feature planning and prioritization
- Product roadmapping for new projects
NABP uses recommendations from these workshops to ensure that organizational goals align with their ability to execute over time.
New Digital Products
Since redesigning their website in 2016, Mightybytes has executed many projects for NABP, including two refreshes of the main website plus new digital products listed below. All deliverables for every project comply with W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA to improve the user experience for people with disabilities.

NABP.Pharmacy
Mightybytes has refreshed NABP’s flagship website several times since our full redesign in 2016. These projects included:
- Visual design and user interface (UI) refresh
- Numerous feature updates
- Custom blocks for new functionality
- Section overhauls with filtering capabilities to improve findability
- Various usability and content display enhancements
All updates help NABP’s stakeholders quickly find the services and information they need.

Drug Disposal Locator Tool
Improper drug disposal pollutes water supplies and soil, causing adverse effects on nearby communities and wildlife. Plus, when drugs fall into the wrong hands, they can cause serious health hazards if ingested.
Mightybytes redesigned NABP’s Drug Disposal Locator Tool to help users more quickly and easily find safe nearby disposal locations to address this problem.
The redesigned tool includes:
- A back-end data management system helps the NABP team easily execute administrative tasks, like removing duplicate location data
- An improved and more intuitive user experience
- Simplified search process that generates more accurate results

Safe.Pharmacy
Mightybytes designed, developed, and launched NABP’s consumer-focused website, Safe.Pharmacy. This site houses all of NABP’s consumer-related content, tools, and resources.
The site helps consumers and the general public:
- Search for locations to safely dispose of old medications
- Confirm if online pharmacies are verified or not
- Report a suspicious online pharmacy
- Find resources for safe medication use and misuse prevention
In 2024, the Safe.Pharmacy website was refreshed to include:
- Updated navigation with child pages
- New custom blocks that we designed and built
- Revisions to existing blocks
Plus, the site received a bronze Digital Health Award from the Digital Health Association, which honors the best digital health resources developed for consumers and health professionals.

Pulse
Pulse by NABP™ is an inclusive, accessible, secure digital platform that simplifies Drug Supply Chain Security Act compliance. The Pulse website provides information about the user-friendly tools and comprehensive network of verified relationships offered through the platform.
This new site project included:
- Breadcrumb trails throughout the website to support wayfinding
- A distinct brand defined by its own style guidelines that still ties into NABP’s website, giving us a clear path for UI and UX Design
- Several existing custom blocks from NABP’s flagship and Safe.Pharmacy websites with minor tweaks for the Pulse brand, as well as new custom blocks
- A Support Center intended to provide customer assistance with onboarding and training in the form of FAQs, videos, PDFs, and tutorials

Continuous Improvement
In addition to the projects above, analytics customization and monthly reporting help NABP more accurately understand which content and features perform best over time. To support monthly reporting, we implemented tools to track key KPIs, such as:
- Accreditation program leads
- App downloads
- Webinar signups
- Email newsletter signups
- State newsletter signups
- Nine different calls-to-action on various buttons across the main site
Along with SEO performance, A/B testing data, and other important marketing metrics, this information is aggregated in monthly reports, which help NABP’s team make informed decisions about how best to move forward.

Generating Results
Finally, we wouldn’t be worth our salt as an agency if we didn’t also help our clients make progress toward the goals they set out to achieve. Here are just a few examples for NABP:
- In the first month after launch, Safe.Pharmacy exceeded NABP’s baseline goals for the two tasks mentioned above by 180% and 157% respectively.
- After the 2024 design refresh, Safe.Pharmacy’s verification tool saw a 4% increase in use over three months after launch.
- Three months after launching the NABP website design refresh, traffic to the About and Initiatives pages linked to from the newly designed home page hero increased by 6.75% and 20%, respectively.
NABP’s continued commitment to measure performance and improve progress over time has helped us consistently meet or exceed their goals from project to project. This positively impacts their ability to better serve members and provide value to the general public.
A Successful Long-Term Partnership
Through our collaboration, NABP has streamlined many internal processes, which saves them significant amounts of time and money. Their websites drive more qualified traffic and are easier to use, especially for people with disabilities.
The organization also now provides much better customer service and produces more effective digital marketing. This has resulted in significant performance improvements that directly benefit NABP’s bottom line.
