Pre-school aged kids can embark on a mobile learning adventure with PNC Bank’s Grow Up Great interactive kiosk.

Founded by The PNC Financial Services Group, PNC Bank’s Grow Up Great campaign is a 10-year, $100 million investment in school readiness to help prepare children from birth to age five for success in school and life.

OUR APPROACH

We collaborated with our friends at MCM Communications to bring this interactive children’s kiosk to life, partnering on creative concepts, interactivity, implementation, and testing. The primary project goal was to create an engaging interactive product that supports teaching basic life skills and long-term financial investment concepts in the education of young children.

IMPLEMENTATION

Based on screen designs provided by MCM, we created interactivity and animated graphic elements in a way suitable for the target age group. The Grow Up Great kiosk was built in Flash and includes these fun features:

  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) educational games for pre-school and early elementary kids
  • Tips for parents on how to integrate math skills into every day life

THE RETURN

The interactive educational kiosk received positive feedback and hundreds of visitors from both parents and children at a number of events in 2010. Some of these events include Super Science Saturday in Baltimore, MD and the Cincinnati Flower Show in Ohio. Check out how the program was implemented in the Detroit Public School District.
