Congratulations to Mightybytes for winning Active Transportation Alliance’s TransitWorks commuter challenge!
Team Mightybytes biked, walked and took the train to work December 1-7, 2012 during the Active Transportation Alliance’s TransitWorks commuter challenge. We logged our commutes through the Alliance’s new Drive Less Live More website. At the end of the week, our team took home the gold in the for-profit business sized 5-24 people category.
Over 30 teams signed up to track their trips to work during this December commuter challenge. Green transit options like biking, telecommuting, carpooling and taking public transit were encouraged.
Teams were separated into size and type categories and ranked based on their participation and the total number of trips logged by the end of the week. Handy individual and team stats tallied how much fuel we’d saved, and how much we’d reduced our carbon emissions, by choosing greener transit options. A calories burned statistic encouraged us to get off our butts and walk and bike to work.
While the challenge only lasted one week, DriveLessLiveMore.com encourages us to track our transit on an ongoing basis. A huge part of who Mightybytes is as a company is doing our part in helping our city and our environment as best we can. The commuter challenge was another opportunity for Mightybytes to help work as a team to decrease our carbon footprint.
