Help us Help the Environment!
Team Mightybytes is working hard to fight climate change, but this team needs your help!
Joy, Tim and Steve are in heavy training/fundraising mode while counting the days down to mid-May’s NYC to DC Climate Ride. We can put the training miles behind us for this 300+ mile ride that benefits nine different environmental organizations, but our team has a fundraising goal of nearly $7,000.00 and the ride is just around the corner.
Think you can help us raise this cash?
Any donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated and will help fund the work of the following organizations:
- 1Sky
- Transportation Alternatives
- 350.org
- Washington Area Bicyclist Association
- Climate Counts
- Green America
- Rails-to-Trails Conservancy
- 1% for the Planet
- San Francisco Bicycle Coalition
Why We’re Riding
Tim’s Ride
“The Climate Ride experience is exhilarating and inspiring. You get to push your own physical limits while meeting 100+ other like-minded riders who bring their own unique stories to share. The group is small enough that you really get to know fellow riders, unlike some of the larger rides I’ve done. Plus, with nightly presentations, film screenings, and discussion panels, the opportunity to learn about sustainability and the things we each can do to help the environment is constant and ongoing throughout the ride. Of course, most importantly, you ride to benefit these nine great organizations, each of which has a unique environmental-related mission.”
Joy’s Ride
“With encouragement from Tim, who rode in the California Climate Ride last Fall, I decided to put myself to the test for this upcoming NYC to DC ride. I knew it would present several challenges for me, such as preparing myself physically and raising the required funds in time, but I always love the opportunity to rise and meet a good challenge. After researching the ride a bit more and learning about all the ways the money we raise goes towards funding the designated sustainable and eco-minded organizations, I realized this would be the perfect way to do my part to help our planet. Here’s to a brighter future for our beloved Earth!”
Steve’s Ride
“When Tim first told me about Climate Ride, I have to admit I was pretty hesitant. I wasn’t in that good of shape to do something like this, nor have I ever done a long distance bike ride before. But the more I thought about it, the better the idea sounded. I made the decision to do the Climate Ride as a personal test to myself, but I also view it as an opportunity to get to know my (fairly new) co-workers. I lived in an environmentally-conscious town (Athens, OH) for the past four years before moving to Chicago, so striving to find ways to support the environment is important to me. I’m excited to meet other cyclists and those who share the same interests, and I’m looking forward to learning a lot about myself (physically, mentally) while learning more about my fellow teammates (Tim, Joy). 300 miles? Bring it on!”
Please consider donating to our ride and sharing this page with your friends. We need all the help we can get and truly appreciate it! Thank you.
