Graphic Design Awards

Graphic Design USA magazine recently honored Mightybytes with five American Graphic Design Awards for the 2009 edition of the magazine’s flagship award contest, now in its fourth decade. Our work was chosen from a pool of 8,000+ entries. Awards were given to four websites and the labels for Mightybrew, our collections of home-brewed ales and lagers:

Chicago Diabetes Project website >>

Court Theatre website >>

Project WET website >>

Woodia la Piccolo website >>

Mightybrew labels >>

Mightybytes has received fourteen awards so far this year, including two American Web Design Awards, two Communicator Awards and three Hermes Creative Awards. While we’re certainly very grateful for the industry recognition, we consider ourselves lucky to have fostered relationships with our clients that makes this caliber of work possible in the first place.

This is the third award for the DCA Theater site and the second for our demo reel.

Hermes Creative Awards

The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals just released recipient names of its 2009 Hermes Creative Awards and Mightybytes was lucky enough to garner two awards and an honorable mention. Our demo reel earned a Platinum Award, the highest honor, which went to only 17% of entries received, while the site we created for the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs Theater won a Gold Award, the third design award for this site. The interactive football game we created for CareerBuilder earned an honorable mention as well.

Hermes Creative Awards recognizes outstanding work in the creative marketing and communications industry and our work was chosen from a pool of over 3,700 entries. A complete list of Platinum and Gold Award winners can be found on the HCA site.

Creative Shake Awards

Rack ‘em up! Just on the heels of our recent Communicator Awards and McDougal Littell’s Codie Award for a long-term interactive animation project we worked on, Mightybytes also recently won three PCom Creative Awards from the fifth annual awards show of the same name. According to the congratulatory email we received, “The PCom Creative Awards Show is an international awards competition that recognizes outstanding work in the communications field. Entries are judged by industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.”

All three of the awards were in the Web Design category. We received a bronze award for the The Neo-Futurists theater company site at neofuturists.org, which is the third award we have won for this site. We also picked up Merit awards for Barbara Kipper’s site at blkipper.com and our own company site. Looks like we’re going to need a bigger mantle.
